Drip edge & flashing

Drip edge and custom eaves flashing in Edmonton

Flashing that actually works: it keeps your fascia and rafters dry and your shingles flat.

Simply having flashing installed won't fix the problem

Eaves flashing stops water from dripping between the eavestrough and the fascia board, where it rots the wood and freezes into ice on your sidewalk. Installed at the correct distance, it also prevents shingle curl and adds years to the life of your shingles.

As a supervisor for another Edmonton company, Steve saw flashing installed wrong so often it became normal. He drew the diagram here to explain how eaves flashing works, and we manufacture all our own flashing to suit every job, custom pieces included. Steve guarantees his flashing installation will actually work.

FAQ

Questions about flashing and ice

Do DoublePro, T-Rex or the Gutter Clean System increase ice build-up?

No. Alu-Rex products do not cause ice to form. If icicles form at the edge of the roof, have the attic ventilation and insulation checked: they are the usual cause of ice along the roofline. Properly installed drip edge flashing also stops the drips that freeze on sidewalks.

No. No shingles are lifted and no nails or screws go into the roof: the hanger is fastened to the fascia. Beware of look-alike products that require lifting the shingles. Lifted shingles dry out, become brittle and can void the shingle manufacturer's warranty.

Yes. Steve comes out, looks at your home, explains what he sees and gives you an honest quote, with no obligation. Call 780-377-1136 or send us your project through the contact form.
